Alarming Footage Shows Moment Officers Are Stabbed in Ambush

Both Senior Officers Instants Before the Aggressor Received Electric Shock

A police sergeant who rushed to the help of a colleague who was ambushed by a knife attacker was granted the King's Commendation for Courage.

Sergeant Tim Ansell struggled against 27-yr-old Jacob Brown following he placed a weapon to the neck of his partner Sergeant Marc Foster.

Brown began the violence as the law enforcement personnel and their third officer, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were speaking to a motorist after a vehicle incident in that location in July 2023.

Brown stabbed and slashed the two Sgt Ansell and Sergeant Foster prior to PC Wolstencroft stopped him with a stun gun.

"Policeman attacked," the constable could be heard saying over his radio.

Officer-mounted and dashcam footage released by the police department revealed Brown, that was clothed in black with a hood up, run up to Sgt Foster from behind with a weapon pointed forward.

He struck the officer who lost balance and went down to the street, after which Sergeant Ansell stepped in and tried to wrestle him to the ground even though being multiple times hit with the blade.

Police Constable Wolstencroft Stopped the Attacker, Jacob Brown, with a Stun Gun

Police Constable Wolstencroft deployed his electric weapon and waited for a open target, concluding the struggle to an end.

Sgt Ansell can be heard to say: "Can I get help on my throat here, I got knifed in the neck."

Sgt Ansell received two open wounds to his throat and additional wounds to his limbs and body, whereas Sergeant Foster received knife wounds.

Officials stated Sergeant Foster utilized his palms to stop his colleague's bleeding before emergency responders came.

The new award follows subsequent to the law enforcement team won internal Courage Honors in October 2023 and the John Egerton Bravery Award from the local officer association in spring 2024.

They further earned a Area Valor Recognition in mid-2024.

"The responses of the entire team in the end rescued themselves and meant no members of the public experienced any harm."

Brown was given to an psychiatric detention in April 2024, as stated by the department.
