One-time National Football League wide receiver Antonio Brown is returning to Miami to address an murder attempt allegation connected with a shooting that occurred in May, with his counsel submitting a not guilty response on his behalf.

Jail documents in Essex County, New Jersey, reveal that Brown was released on Tuesday morning for his move to the state of Florida. Brown, one of the most popular athletes in the NFL, had relinquished transfer to Florida from New Jersey, in which he was taken after being taken into custody in the city of Dubai.

Brown’s lawyer, Mark Eiglarsh, mentioned in an message that he has previously filed a formal not guilty response to the attempted murder allegation. Brown could be in a Miami courtroom as early as Wednesday early for a release proceeding, Eiglarsh added.

Brown was not promptly detained because originally police did not recognize Nantambu as a affected party. It wasn’t until afterward in May that Nantambu provided a full statement about the situation to police and identified Brown as the shooter, the document states.
