Helicopter Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Frequented California Shoreline
A chopper soaring above a popular southern California beach unexpectedly started spinning uncontrollably, finally descending rapidly and smashing into a line of palm trees as spectators looked on.
Videos uploaded on social media capture the chopper starting to spin above the shoreline then plunging towards the edge of the coast, where it ends up lodged among palms and a staircase adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Details
Emergency responders said five persons were taken to hospital involving a pair who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the crash on that day.
Three individuals on the pavement were injured. Information on their condition were not yet released.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
